The Mid-Winter Murder

 Chapter 1

It was a cold and snowy morning. Not even the hens were up, while the detective was sipping his black coffee.

He had just got a call from the police HQ to report to the crime scene with the utmost urgency. He was told to pick up the police inspector from his house.

At his house: The doorbell rang, the inspector's wife opened the door. "Ah, good morning Miss! Is this Inspector Johnson's house?"

"Yes, it is. Come on in, dearie. He will be right with us."

"You have a beautiful house Mrs Johnson."

"Oh! Thank you. It is still rather messy as we both have just come back some days ago from our holiday in Congo."

Just then the inspector arrives.

"Hello there! I am inspector Johnson."

"Oh! I know sir. Who would not know of you? You are a legend all over the country. I hope I can learn much from you.

"Oh, you flatter me detective. Shall we get going? Cheerio dear."
